2. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions apply to accommodation booked on the Thermalia Guesthouses website, or directly with the Provider by phone or e-mail.
For bookings made via Booking.com, Szallas.hu or other intermediaries, the terms accepted there apply to payment and cancellation; these terms apply to the stay itself (arrival, departure, house rules).
The contract is concluded electronically in Hungarian; it is not a written contract and is not filed by the Provider. Booking data is kept as long as required by accounting and other legal obligations.
3. Booking process
- The Guest selects the arrival and departure dates, then one or more available rooms of one guesthouse. Rooms with different dates are separate bookings.
- For each room the Guest enters the number of adults and children and the age of each child; the website calculates the price accordingly.
- The Guest provides personal details (name, e-mail, address, phone) and accepts these terms.
- Before submitting, all details can be reviewed on the summary page and corrected with the “Back” buttons.
- After submitting, we send a verification link to the e-mail address, which must be clicked within 24 hours; otherwise the request is deleted automatically.
- After verification the Guest chooses a payment method. The booking becomes final when the price (or deposit) is received; we confirm it by e-mail.
- Bookings made by phone or e-mail are concluded by the Provider’s confirmation; the payment method (cash, card on site, bank transfer) is agreed individually.
4. Prices
- Prices are per room per night and depend on the number of people staying in the room. A single-occupancy rate applies to one paying guest.
- Children: under 3 years stay free (at most 1 per room, in addition to the room’s capacity); between 3 and 14 years they get 50% off the per-person price; from 14 years the adult rate applies.
- Length-of-stay discounts shown on the website are deducted from the total price.
- Prices are shown in Hungarian forints (HUF) or euros (EUR), as chosen by the Guest. The Provider does not charge VAT.
- Prices do not include the local tourist tax of 400 Ft per person per night for guests aged 18 and over, payable on site.
- The price accepted at booking does not change afterwards.
5. Payment
- Online bookings are paid in advance.
- Card payment: processed on Stripe’s secure payment page; the Provider neither sees nor stores card details.
- Bank transfer: available if arrival is at least 30 days away; the amount must be transferred to the account given in the confirmation, with the booking reference, within 5 days and no later than the day before arrival. For closer arrivals only card payment is possible.
- The full price is payable in advance when booking.
- The Guest receives an e-mail reminder before the deadline. If payment is not received in time, the Provider may cancel the booking after notifying the Guest.
6. Cancellation and changes
- Bookings can be cancelled free of charge until the day before arrival, via “Look up booking” on the website, by e-mail or by phone.
- On the day of arrival or later the booking can no longer be cancelled; in this case, and in case of no-show, the full price is due and no refund is possible.
- For free cancellations we refund the amount paid: card payments automatically to the card (within a few working days depending on the bank); bank transfers or cash within 14 days to a bank account provided by the Guest.
- Nights not used due to early departure are not refunded.
- Changes (dates, number of guests, room) can be requested by e-mail or phone subject to availability; they are valid once confirmed by the Provider, and the price may change accordingly.
- If the Provider cannot fulfil a booking due to force majeure, the amount paid is refunded in full or, at the Guest’s request, other dates are offered.
7. Right of withdrawal
Under Section 29(1)(l) of Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services for specific dates. Instead, the Guest may cancel free of charge as described in Section 6.
8. Arrival, departure, stay
- Check-in: from 3:00 pm. Check-out: until 10:00 am. Other times are possible by prior arrangement.
- On arrival we record the Guests’ identity documents as required by Hungarian law (guest register).
- No more guests may stay in a room than stated in the booking.
- Guests must use the accommodation as intended and follow the house rules posted on site; they are liable for damage they cause as provided by law.
- The Provider is liable for items left at the accommodation to the extent provided by law.
9. Complaints
Complaints can be made at info@thermalia.hu, by phone at +36 70 425 3330 or by post (4183 Kaba, Baross Gábor utca 46., Hungary). We reply to written complaints within 30 days.
If a complaint cannot be settled, the Guest may turn to the conciliation board competent for their place of residence or for the Provider’s seat: Hajdú-Bihar Vármegyei Békéltető Testület, 4025 Debrecen, Vörösmarty u. 13–15., tel.: +36 52 500 710, e-mail: bekelteto@hbkik.hu, www.hbmbekeltetes.hu, or start court proceedings.
10. Personal data
The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy (website: Privacy).
11. Final provisions
The Provider may amend these terms; amendments do not affect bookings already confirmed.
Matters not covered here are governed by Hungarian law, in particular the Civil Code and consumer protection legislation.
